As per request, here’s a full comic about Hobo Joe and his obsession with celery. Making comics with logic pushed off to the side is fun!
When making this week of comics I looked at hundred of fonts and tested out a few dozen of them. I really didn’t find anything I like and, since it looks weird in this comic’s style anyway, am sticking with hand drawn text. The other option is to make my own font. However I don’t have Illustrator or one of those font making programs, so maybe another day. For now, celery.
Reminds me of the hobo from VG-Cats. May he rest in peace.
Oh yes, poor Dr. Hobo…
Honestly, when I designed this character I didn't put too much thought into him. He was just a gag that appeared in two panels and I never expected to see him again. That's why he's typical hobo – beard, paper bag, and patched coat. If anything I was thinking about Hobo Jojo from the Powerpuff Girls movie.
Instead it seems he was quite a hit. I guess he'll have to be in the background some other time.
It's always great when a Background character hits the big time because they're so funny looking.
Like Derpy, for example.
Hobo Joe is now the Derpy Hooves of this comic!

It took me until panel 6 to realize that he might be feeding us some BS.
And sadly Celery is one of maybe 2-3 things that is impossible for me to eat without feeling sick.
That's because some of it's true, like the bit about it taking more calories to eat than it gives back.

Um, in panel 6 , do you mean "led" to? I do think this font is much closer to your style than the previous one.
